In this Cantina (that means both wine cellar and wine shop) the past is lively present, and shows itself in the sweet scents from the earth as well as in the stories of people rich in genuineness, in a passionate love for this land as has been handed down for four generations. The man who received the Cantina's tradition and now takes it ahead is Giovanni Cenci, wine expert and grape grower. His studies made him travel through Europe; this, together with his passionate love for Umbria, has turned him into a brilliant ball of fire. That can be inferred from his never-trivial wines, but also from the unusual metal sculptures he skillfully makes by reusing old junk or abandoned tools.

A visit to Cantina Cenci will let you taste high-quality wines to be drunk while having dishes in this case called taglieri, cutting boards full of typical local food. But before that, a visit to the vineyard and the proper cellar. This experience will prove more than simply eating and drinking; it provides a route that goes from the special features of this land, rich in travertine (a type of marble), to the final products. The emblem of the Benedictine Olivetan monks, who used to live where the Cantina now exists, has been retrieved for the bottle labels so as to recall that Innovation must not forget Tradition.
